Outward Bound attendee

Samuel Mautner

Samuel Mautner who completed his qualification through Emcon Ltd in Auckland reflects on what inspired him to participate in BCITO's Outward Bound opportunity.

Samuel also gives praise to Outward Bound for giving him skill sets he could apply to everyday work life in the trades. “Because of the unique group, I got to observe how other future leaders handled situations. This taught me new ways in which I can lead a crew on my work site," says Samuel.

When asked what advice he would give to someone who might be hesitant about applying, Samuel says, “Just go for it! It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. At no point in your life will you look back and think, I wish I hadn't done that. If you miss the opportunity now, it will be something you will always regret.”
